From time immemorial, healing methods using transfer of universal life force energy existed in one or other form, whether it was in Asia, Africa, Australia, America or Europe. But this knowledge was available only to spiritual leaders, Priests etc; and was passed on to their disciples by word of mouth. These knowledge were usually shrouded in cryptic form & symbols.
REIKI is of Vedic origin, was lost time and again. Once again revealed to Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s. Now it is available to all those who are willing to learn it. It is understood that Dr. Usui's pursuit for divine healing powers was triggered by a discussion on Bible. He travelled, researched and finally rediscovered an ancient healing systems from the Buddhist Sanskrit writings. He called the system Reiki. Reiki is Japanese. It means universal life force energy and is pronounced " Ray - Key".
Thanks to Dr. Usui. Without him probably it would have remained beyond the reach of anyone. Reiki or the universal life force energy can be accessed and channeled by each one of us when being attuned /empowered/ initiated by a Traditional Reiki Master. There are various degrees of attunement /empowerment/ initiation. In the first degree seminar/ workshop a series of 4 attunements are given by a Reiki Master. In the process the vibratory level of physical and etheric bodies are raised to channel higher amount of universal life force energy. Once a person has been attuned to channel Reiki, the energy will flow through his hands on its own accord and will retain this ability for the rest of his life.
